Samsung accidentally reveals new curved phablet

Samsung has a major event planned for the 13th of August which is likely to reveal their latest slate of handsets – including the successor to the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. And now we’ve got some more news on a handset dubbed the Galaxy S6 Edge+. It’s looking like the new model is a larger-sized version of the original Edge, bumping up the screen to 5.5 inches. If so, It’s likely to cause quite the stir, as the original Edge did when it was released last year – though it will still be smaller than the Galaxy Note 5 at 5.7 inches, leading to a large range of available sizes.

The information comes from Samsung’s own official French site which put up a pre-order page for the Galaxy S6 Edge+ overnight. The phone is shown as part of a bundle with a headset and three months of Google Play Music and looks to be a limited offer available to those who pre-order between the 21st of August and the 4th of September.

The actual text which mentions the phone is tiny and it’s impossible to tell the dimensions from the image but we’re going to assume that it’s not a typo and the new screen size is on the way for the curved handset. It would fall into line with some of the rumours which have been coming out ahead of the Unpacked event, and would sit next to the larger Galaxy Note 5 quite cleanly.

Stay tuned for official news from Samsung on the 13th of August 2015.
